Peach Bitcoin
5.7/10 total
A mobile-first bitcoin-only P2P marketplace run by Peach Sarl in Neuchatel, Switzerland. Trades settle out of a 2-of-2 multisig between the seller and Peach, so Peach cannot move coins alone but can refuse to co-sign, and in a dispute Peach staff arbitrate by demanding proof of payment and then signing for one side. Swiss rules let it clear up to CHF 1,000 per day and CHF 100,000 per year per user with no identity documents; past that, verification applies.
Scores
Weights are published in the method and applied identically to every entry.
For
- 2-of-2 multisig escrow means Peach never holds unilateral control of the seller's bitcoin
- No email or ID needed to start; the account is a keypair generated in the app
- Documented no-verification ceilings (CHF 1,000/day, CHF 100,000/year) rather than an undisclosed risk engine
- Client source is published at github.com/Peach2Peach/peach-app and there is an Apache-licensed public API doc repo
- Sellers pay no platform fee
Against
- 2% buyer fee is high next to a swap service, and the seller's premium sits on top of it
- Licence is MIT plus a Commons Clause, so it is source-available, not free software, and the backend is not published
- Peach staff are the sole arbiter in a dispute and hold one of the two escrow keys
- Bitcoin only, and no onion service or JS-free path
- Four years old with no public incident record, which is a thin history rather than a clean one
Agent access 5/10
There is a documented HTTP API (Peach2Peach/peach-api-docs, Apache-2.0) and a maintained TypeScript wrapper, but trading is bound to an app-generated identity keypair and escrow requires client-side signing, so an agent needs to reimplement the wallet, not just call endpoints.
Reported separately and not counted in the total. It measures what an autonomous agent can do unattended, not whether the service is safe to use.
Fees
2% paid by the buyer
Peach charges 2% of trade volume to the buyer and nothing to the seller, on top of on-chain mining fees. The larger cost is usually the seller's own premium over spot, which is set per offer and is routinely several percent for no-ID fiat rails, so budget the 2% plus whatever the offer's price is above market.
