KyberSwap
7.0/10 total
An on-chain routing aggregator that splits a trade across hundreds of liquidity sources, with a published fee schedule that charges nothing on ordinary swaps. The caution flag is for the separate KyberSwap Elastic product: on 22 November 2023 a precision error in its concentrated-liquidity math was exploited for about $48.8 million of liquidity provider funds, after which Kyber Network cut its workforce in half and ran a treasury grant program to partially compensate victims. The aggregator itself was not the vulnerable component and traders using it were not drained, but the same team and treasury sit behind both.
Scores
Weights are published in the method and applied identically to every entry.
For
- Fee schedule is published and explicitly states no protocol fee on swaps, which is rare among aggregators of this size
- No account, no email, no verification; you connect a wallet and trade on-chain
- Aggregator API is public and documented, and works without a key for basic quoting
- Contracts are open source and have been audited by multiple firms
- Operating since 2018, which is a longer continuous record than most cross-chain routers
Against
- The November 2023 KyberSwap Elastic exploit cost liquidity providers about $48.8 million and forced a 50% workforce reduction; recovery for affected users was partial
- Every trade is permanently public on-chain and the hosted front end sees your IP and wallet
- No onion service and the app requires JavaScript
- Cross-chain swaps do carry a 0.05% to 0.25% protocol fee, unlike the same-chain swap product
- Operating entity and jurisdiction are not clearly disclosed on the site
Agent access 9/10
The aggregator API is public and documented for quoting and building a swap transaction, with no account required for basic use. An agent with a funded wallet can quote, build and broadcast unattended.
Reported separately and not counted in the total. It measures what an autonomous agent can do unattended, not whether the service is safe to use.
Fees
0% own fee
The published fee schedule lists no fee on plain swaps; you pay only the underlying pool fees and gas. Cross-chain swaps are 0.05% to 0.25% depending on route and token volatility, and limit orders are 0.01% to 1% by token category.
