Houdini Swap

caution Risk-based KYC Aggregator no account

4.1/10 total

Markets itself as private cross-chain swapping, routing each private trade through two partner exchanges and an intermediate coin to break the on-chain link between sender and receiver. Its own compliance documentation undercuts the privacy framing in specific ways worth reading before use: it proactively blocks access from the Tor network, geo-blocks sanctioned jurisdictions, caps swaps at $100,000, collects IP addresses to meet partner compliance requirements, and requires every routing partner to run Chainalysis screening and cooperate with law enforcement. Public Trustpilot complaints in July 2026 describe a five-figure swap frozen by Houdini and its partners with full source-of-funds documentation demanded.

Weights are published in the method and applied identically to every entry.

For

  • Genuinely does break the direct on-chain link between deposit and payout address, which a single-hop instant swapper does not
  • No account, no wallet connection and no signature required for the deposit-address flow
  • Fee model is stated as all-in in the quote, with no post-swap charges
  • Transaction data is documented as auto-deleted after 72 hours, with an opt-in immediate deletion control during the swap

Against

  • Blocks Tor by its own admission, which rules out the access method most privacy-focused users would want
  • Collects and retains IP addresses specifically to satisfy partner compliance and law enforcement requests
  • Partners run real-time AML screening and can demand KYC and source of funds; a July 2026 Trustpilot complaint describes exactly that on a swap over $20,000
  • Does not disclose which partner exchange your particular swap was routed through, so you cannot assess the counterparty in advance
  • Hard $100,000 cap and geo-blocking of sanctioned jurisdictions
  • Private Swaps cost about twice the standard route by the company's own fee documentation

Agent access 6/10

A documented partner API covers quoting and private swap flows, but it is gated behind a partner portal account. Tor egress is blocked, so an agent routing through Tor will not reach the service at all.

Reported separately and not counted in the total. It measures what an autonomous agent can do unattended, not whether the service is safe to use.

Fees

embedded in rate

No line-item fee: routing commission is baked into the quote. Its own docs say Private Swaps cost roughly double the No Wallet Connect route because they execute two legs, which puts a private swap materially above a plain instant swapper on cost.
